Regarding Custom Curtains
How do I decide the size of my curtains?
If you have a track rod, the length will be chosen according to the length of the track rod to the floor. Please refer to our Curtain Measurement Guideline for detailed instructions.
If something is not sure, please don't hesitate to contact us at jhhmkj@outlook.com. Our professional agents will recommend the right size for you.
Is it a price for one curtain or a pair?
Our curtains are priced per panel. When you select the quantity of 1, there will be 1 panel in your order.
Can I trust the color shown in your pictures?
We know that lighting, screens, and real-life settings can greatly affect how a color appears. We always encourage customers to order physical Sample Books before making a final decision.
What is memory training?
Memory training is a crucial technique that helps your curtains keep their shape and pleats looking neat. By giving the fabric a "memory", your curtains will maintain their elegant appearance whether they're open or closed.
Is memory training suitable for all headers?
Curtain header styles not compatible with Memory Training include inverted box pleats, rod pockets, grommets, back tapes, flat hooks, 4-in-1 headers, and ripple folds.
These styles are engineered to preserve their intended look through their structural design and mounting method, making Memory Training unnecessary.
Should I take consideration of stacking width when the drapery is opened?
Typically, the stacking width makes up 20% of the ordered width. We advise taking it into account when determining the appropriate rod length to ensure the window opening is fully visible when the drapery is opened.
Should I consider purchasing pin hooks to achieve a pleated style?
Together with your parcel, it will include enough hooks and rings to hang up on the curtain rod.
For roller metal hooks, curtain rod and track, please shop separately.
For which size is double width required for sewing?
When using pleated header styles, the maximum finished curtain width without seam is 56 inches for curtain lengths above 108 inches. For lengths below 108 inches, there is no seam requirement. If the finished width exceeds this limit, double-width curtains with a vertical seam will be necessary.
What is the maximum curtain size for Memory Training?
180 inches Width; 236 inches Length. Curtains that exceed this maximum size are not eligible for memory training.
How do I choose header style?
Please contact us at jhhmkj@outlook.com and our team will provide detailed guidance on choosing the right header style for you.
How do I install my curtains?
Please refer to our Measuring & Installation Guide for step-by-step instructions. You can also contact us at jhhmkj@outlook.com and we will send you the installation instructions.
I'm purchasing curtains for the first time, what collection would you recommend?
We have different fabrics and styles. These are our most popular options:
- Lille Linen curtains
- Vol velvet curtains
- Windsor jacquard curtains
- Sheer curtains
- Lille roman shades
My windows are domed / pointed / fan-shaped / irregular, how should I design the curtains?
Send photos to jhhmkj@outlook.com along with your ideas. We will design multiple solutions for you to choose from and guide you on which parts to measure.
I want my curtains to puddle on the floor / just hover above the floor, how should I choose the length?
Measure from the curtain rod to the floor, then subtract 2 inches to prevent dragging. For a puddle effect, add extra length so the curtains drape naturally on the floor.
Do you have any tips for installing a curtain rod?
Mounting the curtain rod close to the ceiling (rather than right above the window frame) guides the eye upward, making the room appear taller and more spacious.
Light-filtering VS. blackout curtains. Which one should I choose?
Light-filtering curtains are ideal for living rooms and dining rooms. Blackout curtains are best for bedrooms for sound insulation and quality sleep. You can also combine both with a double-layer setup.
Not sure which option suits your space best? Contact us at jhhmkj@outlook.com and we will help you find the perfect match.
Do you send out any sample fabric?
We do not offer free sample swatches. You can get our sample book per collection — please contact us at jhhmkj@outlook.com for details.
I want to design a layer of sheer fabric plus a layer of curtains, how should I make this happen?
You will need to purchase a set of sheer curtains, a set of blackout curtains, and a set of double-track/double-rod curtain rods.
Why does the color of the curtains look different once hung up?
This is due to differences in light environment and fabric state, not an actual color deviation:
- Light environment: Mixed illumination from natural light, indoor lamps, or reflected outdoor light alters color presentation.
- Fabric form and background: Folds create light and shadow, and nearby wall or furniture colors can amplify tonal differences.
Subtle tonal differences become more prominent when fabric is displayed as a large hanging area.
Why do some custom curtains have a maximum length limit of 100 inches?
Curtains with prints or patterns longer than 100 inches require splicing two pieces of fabric together, and the patterns cannot be perfectly aligned. This is why length limits are imposed.
Which curtain heading style is the most popular?
The most popular style is the Pinch Pleat - Double. It glides smoothly when opening and closing, and is compatible with both standard curtain rods and tracks.
Why do my curtains not appear to have memory training?
Check if your curtain rings are twisted 180 degrees. Twisted rings cause pleats to twist and look uneven. Before hanging, ensure all pleats are aligned in the same direction.
Regarding Custom Blinds & Shades
Roman Shades: Why am I receiving a different material header?
Due to unusual proportions, we upgrade the shade with a wooden headrail to enhance stability and performance.
Roman Shades: When will I receive a wooden headrail instead of the standard one?
If your custom shade has unusual proportions (e.g., width of 25" but length over 55"), our manufacturing team will replace the standard headrail with a wooden one. The wooden headrail does not affect the overall appearance and is chosen solely to ensure smooth operation and long-term performance.
Roman Shades: What are the cords and rings on the back for? Can I cut the cords?
Please do not cut the cords or touch the lifting mechanism on the back. These parts are essential for the shade to function properly. Cutting or adjusting them may damage the product and make it unusable.
For manual shades, how do I lift and pull off?
Do not pull the fabric or unfold the shade before it is fully installed. Once installed, use both hands to gently and evenly lift or pull down the bottom rail. Avoid pulling from just one side.
How do I measure for inside mount shades / blinds?
Make sure your window frame depth is larger than the shade headrail. The shade width should be 1/4 inch smaller than the window frame width to ensure smooth installation. See our Measuring & Installation Guide for full details.
How do I measure for outside mount shades / blinds?
Make sure both width and height are larger than the window frame so the shade fully covers the window. If the frame depth is less than the shade headrail, choose outside mount. See our Measuring & Installation Guide for full details.
How do I determine the size of my blind / shade?
Please refer to our Measuring & Installation Guide or contact us at jhhmkj@outlook.com and our professional agents will recommend the right size for you.
